Scripture Jonah- “You Can’t Run From Your Responsibilities.” God gives us a job to do. He gave Jonah a job he didn’t want to do so he hid (or so he thought) from God. Being a Mother is one of the greatest and hardest jobs you can have, but it’s also a blessing. As parents we are responsible for teaching our children about God. Don’t be a Jonah. Latch on to your responsibility. Show your child they are loved and a gift from God.
Upcoming events:

We pray all Mothers had a blessed day. However, every day should be a day to honor our mothers.
Bro. Kevin told us of three mothers who are definitely in the "Mothers Hall of Fame." They were Jochebed (Moses' mother), Hannah (Samuel's mother), and Mary (Jesus' mother). Mothers are more precious than silver or gold!
Don't forget our Sugar Drive for Camp Northward.
Our "20/20" group meets at 7:30 p.m. on May 22.
May 25 is "Pancakes with a Grownup" at church for our little people.
Our prayer concerns include Jim McCann, Gerald Barlow, Tirah Clemons, Jenny Wright, Julia Pugh, Janice Bertram, Jeanine Cox, Cheri Figgins, Jeff Page, Carolyn Vanlandingham, Bill Ice, Ernie Richie, Trudy Moore, our shut-ins, and our nation.
Our sympathy to loved ones of Randall Moore and Ann Polley.

Bro. Mark’s message was from Romans 3.
Heaven! But now God has shown us a different way to heaven, not being good enough and keeping the laws but by a new way. God says he will accept and declare us not guilty if we trust Jesus to take away our sins. Yes, all have sinned and fall short of God's glorious ideal. For God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins. He used Christ’s blood and our faith as means of saving us from his wrath. Let not your heart be troubled.
While we are on this earth we have a ministry to do. Witness to others about Jesus Christ.

We celebrated the baptism of Darrell Price Sunday morning. It was a very special day for Darrell having his baptism on his birthday.
We then had a time of recognizing the moms and celebrating Mother’s Day where mom received a flower. Those receiving a hanging basket were: Ruth Jenkins (eldest), Chloe Baumgartner (youngest), Shelli Beighle (most children in Sunday school) and Ardonna Brown (has had the most in State Bible Drill). Then Bro. Dale had prayer with/for the moms.
The children’s message, We Are Family, was from Mark 3:20-35. Bro. Dale explained to the kids that God chose to bring us into the world as a family. He wants you to be raised in a home where there is love and where you are taught about being a part of the family of God.
Miley Smith read Ruth 1:19-21, and Bro. Dale’s message, Naomi: Mother of Courage, was from Ruth 1:1-5.
The evening service was dismissed so that we could attend Baccalaureate service at the high school. We pray all the graduates have a bright future ahead!
