Assessment launched to lead way toward economic growth

FALMOUTH — The Pendleton County Economic Development office, in collaboration with the Community and Economic Development Initiative, is announced the launch of a groundbreaking community assessment project.

This initiative is designed to evaluate the county’s economic landscape, pinpoint areas for enhancement, and propose actionable strategies for sustainable growth and prosperity.

“Led by the expert team at CEDIK and in close partnership with local stakeholders, this Community Assessment will delve into crucial aspects including future economic development goals, existing strategies, resources dedicated to growth, and community attitudes towards economic development,” Tami Vater, Pendleton County Economic and Tourism Development director, said.

“Through data collection and in-depth analysis, the project aims to provide a comprehensive overview of Pendleton County’s economic potential and avenues for advancement.

Vater emphasized the significance of this assessment in shaping the future economic trajectory of Pendleton County, stressing the importance of community-driven initiatives for a vibrant and resilient future.

Beka Burton, Economic Development Extension Specialist at CEDIK, highlighted the potential for growth in both tourism and industry in Pendleton County, expressing excitement to collaborate with the community for impactful outcomes.

The completed report is expected to be released by the end of the year, offering valuable insights and a road map for elected officials, economic development professionals, and community leaders to navigate the path toward sustainable economic development in Pendleton County, Vater said.
