Emma Reid earned Valedictorian honors for the Class of 2021 of Pendleton County High School. “I am so blessed to receive this honor. It has been a long four years of hard, diligent work. I want to thank my parents and teachers for always encouraging me to do my best.

College becomes more affordable

    Kentucky students who need financial aid to pay for college or technical training will have more help this fall.     For 2021–22, CAP grants will offer students up to $2,900 at eligible four-year institutions and up to $2,200 at the state’s eligible community and technical colleges.

    The Class of 2021 has its end dates on the calendar as their final days of their high school career.     Class Night that will include senior talent and scholarship presentations will be a 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12 in the high school gymnasium.     Baccalaureate services will start at 7 p.m.

Eckhart to attend West Point Program

    PCHS Student Shelby Eckhart will attend two virtual summer programs hosted by the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York.     Despite the online platform, the program will include most topics and events that students would have participated in at West Point.

    On Tuesday afternoon, April 13, clubs from PCHS participated in Sticker Shock, an event ongoing since 2010.     Local businesses allow PCHS students to come in and place stickers on items to deter underage drinking and drug use.

Redden and Peluso selected for 2021 Sharp scholarships

    Allison Marie Redden, daughter of Jennifer Blau Redden and Mark Redden  and Justin Robert  Peluso, son of Christopher and Angela  Peluso, both students of Demossville, have been selected as the recipients of the 2021 Phillip Sharp Family Scholarship and the Class of 1962 Scholarship.
